1st Round : Aptitude consisting of basic finance, quant and UNIX, SQL. 2nd Round : In person interview, being from pure finance background mostly questions were related to my current role, Why I want to make a switch, Why blackrock etc. They were expecting a candidate to have a blend of technical as well as finance domain knowledge, company mostly operate in fintech Space serving hedge fund and instituional c lients. There were two panel in the interview out of which only one was asking the question related to my CV, and one was clueless about what I was speaking given that I was into hard core finance (that guy seems to be more towards technical). After technical interview, there was HR round where they told they would get back in a week time. Finally I wasn't selected for that role and they offered me a new opportunity as commercial real estate analyst which I happily declined. The reason for not taking the new role is that there was too much divergence in the field from pure finance(equities) to fintech and back to real estate. We usually get delusion to the fact getting into a big MNC would improve the odds of further career progression.(My intention was also similar, as currently working in a very small firm), but it would be wise to be patient enough to wait for the right opportunity as well as having the right mindset and attitude to saying no to things as well. Overall it was a great learning experience for me. There were 7 open position with around 30-35 applicants.
