I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at BlackRock (New York, NY) in Oct 2009
Interview
There was an on campus interview with one employee from the NYC office. The interview consisted of basic behavioral questions and an "explain how to do something" question.
Thought the interview could have gone better, but was contacted via telephone for a second round interview on site. BlackRock calls the second round interviews "SuperDays."
The Super Day consisted of a brief meeting with two HR employees and then 4 back to back interviews with Directors and Managing Directors. Not too many technical questions, but a few. Basically a resume walk and chit chat.
Super Day was scheduled from 8:30 am to 12 noon.
BlackRock reimbursed for all transportation, meals, hotels etc.

HireVue then 3 part superday. All interviews were a mix of technical and behavioral but mostly behavioral and market-based. Interviews were over a 4 hour period and with employees from different offices
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about your internship experience and why it sets you up for this role
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at BlackRock (New York, NY) in Jun 2026
Interview
The Hirevue questions were all behavioral, no tell me about yourself or why blackrock. Questions were pretty simple. Prepare a financial news story you are following because they will ask you that.
Hireview is preparation and then one time recording, which is from memory 3 minutes long. There was only 3 questions for me and most of it related to the role instead of purely just asking why blackrock or why this role.
