Interview
I applied for BlackRock summer internship program. I was asked to record a video for virtual cover letter that would be evaluated by BlackRock employee later. The questions asked are 1) What made you apply for BlackRock and this division in particular? 2) What was the recent interesting news that you heard about and how is BlackRock linked to it.
After finishing the recording round, I was asked four programming questions. 3 problems are Coin change, String manipulator and one object oriented problem. You can take multiple sittings to complete the questions and there is no time limit.
After this round, I had a in-person interview at their SFO office. They were 4 interviews back to back in 2 hours each for 30 min.
1st Interview - Reverse Linked list
2nd Interview - Puzzle (on probability)
3rd Interview - Behavioral
4th Interview - Object Oriented.
Once, all these rounds are finished you will be asked to wait for the result. Unfortunately, my candidature was rejected.
Note: For many people though they have done well at 2nd round coding, BlackRock hasn't given any feedback. I was just lucky to fly to SFO.
HireVue then 3 part superday. All interviews were a mix of technical and behavioral but mostly behavioral and market-based. Interviews were over a 4 hour period and with employees from different offices

Interview
The Hirevue questions were all behavioral, no tell me about yourself or why blackrock. Questions were pretty simple. Prepare a financial news story you are following because they will ask you that.
Hireview is preparation and then one time recording, which is from memory 3 minutes long. There was only 3 questions for me and most of it related to the role instead of purely just asking why blackrock or why this role.
