I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at BlackRock (New York, NY) in Aug 2020
Interview
This was for the BlackRock Platform Innovation Summer Analyst Role
It was a long process but a really good one. I applied through the accelerator program and had a HireVue for the role. The questions are the same as prior years to my knowledge (even though I didn't know this going in lol)
Afterwards I got invited to do a first round interview which was a video call with one of the associates that was a summer analyst the year before. The questions were all related to my experiences connected to the four values of BlackRock. There were no technical questions but they were just looking for how your experiences tied into Blackrocks values.
I found out about second round about two weeks later which was hosted end of September. There were three interviews with two managing directors and one VP. Again all behavioural and no technicals. I thought the interviews went really well but unfortunately, did not get an offer.
They got back to me within a week from the final rounds to the decision.

Question 1
Tell me about your internship experience and why it sets you up for this role
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at BlackRock (New York, NY) in Jun 2026
Interview
The Hirevue questions were all behavioral, no tell me about yourself or why blackrock. Questions were pretty simple. Prepare a financial news story you are following because they will ask you that.
Hireview is preparation and then one time recording, which is from memory 3 minutes long. There was only 3 questions for me and most of it related to the role instead of purely just asking why blackrock or why this role.
