Is Blackrock running a joke?
The process was a disgrace and the interviewers were a bunch of immature unprofessional jerks.
First, I received an email from the HR saying they are interested and want to schedule an interview. Two weeks later, someone cold-called me and said he's from BlackRock and want to book a video interview. He did not know what team, what department, or even what role was!!!
A couple of days later, he sent me the schedule of the people I'd interview with without any screening call or any description of the role from the hiring manager.
Anyway, there comes the video interview. Ready? a team outsourced in India, that has no idea about role and doesn't even have my resume in hand!
The team (including the so-called director) did not even turn the camera on claiming they had a bad connection!!!
The questions were totally made-up and had nothing to do with the role.
Three quarters through the interview, I ended the conversation and hang up on these disrespectful fools.
My advice to any prospective candidate is to NOT consider this shady company that's known to have very suspension investments (look it up). Let alone their (outsourced) people and their interview process.

Question 1
Where is your resume? can you send me your resume? lol!!
The interview process itself was excellent. I went through four rounds of interviews, including a final round that was changed at the last minute from Zoom to an in-person meeting with senior leadership. Every person I met with was professional, engaged, and generous with their time, and the conversations left me with a very positive impression of the team and the work being done.
Unfortunately, the candidate experience outside of the interviews was the complete opposite. I had virtually no interaction with my recruiter throughout the process and, despite being told I would hear back with an update, multiple follow-ups over several weeks went unanswered. I ultimately learned the role had been filled through LinkedIn rather than from BlackRock.
Not being selected is part of the hiring process, and I fully respect that. However, after four rounds of interviews and a significant investment of time from both sides, failing to provide even a simple follow-up email fell well below the level of professionalism I expected from a company with BlackRock's reputation.

Question 1
Most of the interview questions were fairly standard leadership and experience-based questions. Honestly nothing to write home about.
I applied online. I interviewed at BlackRock (Edinburgh, Scotland)
Interview
5 levels including the recruiter's interview. It was largely about questions on project and working experience that relates to the role. And then follow up questions for the explanations you give, non and on and on and then a few questions about best practices.
Scheduled via recruiting coordinator then web meetings conducted by hiring manager. Questions were behavioral and technical. Discussions on general business themes influencing the industry. There was back and forth discussion.
