I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at BlackRock (London, England) in Nov 2022
Interview
Completed an accelerator, which was supposed to fast track you to the first round interviews. It is the same process as a normal application.
1. Submit application and cv
2. Virtual cover letter (video interview) answering two questions (why did you apply to blackrock, tell us something unique that’s not on your resume)
3. First round interview 30 min each with 2 teams which asked questions based on the blackrock principles
4. Final round interview, 2x30 min interviews with 2 members of the team you were selected for. Very simple questions also based on the principles, then about 15 min to ask questions at the end.
Overall my interview process was very drawn out
1 August 22: Applied for accelerator program
start Oct 22: received invite for accelerator
mid October: first round interviews (heard back 2 weeks later inviting me to final rounds)
start November: final round interviews
And 2 months later I haven’t received feedback on my interviews. It seems there’s a hiring freeze but it would be appreciated if they could communicate that with the applicants. I spent a lot of time interviewing, networking and preparing to basically be ignored by the company whilst they’re giving out other offers.
Too long, 5 rounds not including a recruiter screen and one panel interview with 2 people. Normal interviews but ridiculous process and the pay is not great for a trillion dollar company.
One online interview and three rounds of hirevue until an assessment centre in the offices and coding exam if applying to engineer roles in London. The interview was quite easy and straightforward; really happy with the results
I applied online. I interviewed at BlackRock (Seattle, WA)
Interview
1st round was online with 2 interviewers and 2nd round was in person with 2 other interviewers. Interview was to find out fit with the team. I was asked on financial knowledge as well as technical knowledge.
