I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Block (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
Internal recruiter reaches out for a short phone screen. He was about 10 minutes late. Mentioned that he is really busy and has back to back calls. (Makes me feel really valued) The call didn't seem to have a purpose other then informing me the recruiting process and ask why I was looking. I was invited to headquarters for a short 2 person interview. When receiving the email confirmation there is no schedule for who you will be meeting with.
The schedule said it will be 1 hour and 15 minutes and if that goes well then another interview. When I arrived I ended up with a 3 hour interview with over 4 people. The coordinator picks you up from the lobby and gives a short tour and water. Very modern and high tech looking office with lots of space. The team is very nice and seem like a good bunch of people to work with. Most have been there 3+ years. Since they have a small group it appears they are looking for someone who fits their culture to a T. Not a lot of hustle and bustle going on in the office.
At the end of the 1:1 interviews the internal recruiter picks you up and walks you out. When meeting with me he said he collected the feedback from most of the team already. I asked him if he could share it or if they would provide direct feedback to help me in future interviews. He responded they usually don't do that. (why tell me you got feedback already then?) All in all an ok interview process. They could have done a better job preparing candidates and screening upfront then wasting time bringing people in for short interviews.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why do you want to leave your current position? Why work at Square? Tell me about your experience. General questions revolving around recruiting and process. Asked about what types of recruiting you want to focus on.

Interview
Very messy
Dealing with a Recruiter in the US that would only tell me interview confirmation times in her time zone.
They were unable to tell me how many interviews would be in the process. I had 3 but was told it could be approx 6.
Was never given feedback from the final interview had to check their online portal to find out not selected.
Very poor candidate experience makes me believe they don't live by the values they preach about during the process.
May have dodged a bullet.

Interview
The process was very well thought out and structured. The company did a great job of making me feel valued and it was a welcoming process. They move very quickly and offer negotiation was a pleasure. Answered all of my questions thoroughly. Skye did an amazing job of painting a clear picture of the team and was very open during the interview. There weren't any questions designed to stump you and every interviewer made me feel comfortable even though I get nervous in interviews.

Interview
This was the worst interview experience I have ever had. As a recruiter myself I have an understanding of the process and get how busy and hectic things can be however the way they treated me was inexcusable. For starters the recruiter was 7 minutes late to our call and unapologetic about it. She was incredibly low energy and apathetic with no excitement about Square. I could tell she was reading from a script and not even paying attention to my answers. Most of the questions I asked were met with negative and sarcastic responses. Why does this person even work there when they clearly hate it so much? To make matters worst I was rejected even though my qualifications far exceeded the requirements for the role. No feedback provided which seems to be a theme for this place. All in all I was shocked and saddened by my experience.
