I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Bloomberg (New York, NY) in Oct 2017
Interview
Serious engineers should STAY AWAY!
You are judged on interviewing skills not technical skills. if you code correctly, but you do not pick up their hints thats a negative point.
Phone interviewers were good, but onsite interviewers did not seem to have respect for the fact that people think differently. Some people may take more time to come to a point than others, ( which might be reverse for different problem).
Process spanned over 3 Months !
2 phone interviews
Then onsite
Pathetic experience.
2 interviewers sitting next to me in small room, constantly talking and “trying to help”. They were polite, but very interruptive.
Next was design interview. Was let go after that.
No questions on my project or technologies that I use were asked. ( Least you can expect as an engineer)
The expectation is that they want to see you how you tackle a problem in your day to day. Fair enough! But their approach is terrible.
Its really terrible that one engineer has so much power to completely eliminate you after going through so many rounds. I was walked out immediately after the interview there was no discussion between Engineers!

Question 1
All standard questions that previous posts have mentioned.
Just go through all the glassdoor posts and if its your day you ll get the job.
Phone screen went very well, i passed to the onsites and they gave me the problem statement and i proposed a sub-optimal solution. They told to me come up with more optimal solution and didn't give me much time to think about it. They got impatient and gave me a hint. I figured it out and solved the problem, but apparently they thought I needed hints, which I didn't ask for.
15 minutes talking about resume, 45 minutes for 2 medium leetcode style coding questions (using code share), the interviewer was very friendly and communication is even more important than passing all test cases.
Overall, it was a positive and professional interview experience, though the interviewer was on the stricter side. Unfortunately, I was dealing with an illness and wasn't able to prepare as thoroughly as I wanted to, which left me feeling a bit off throughout the conversation. Despite not feeling my best and facing a tough interviewer, the process was well-structured.
