I applied through other source. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Bloomberg (New York, NY) in May 2023
Interview
The interview process started with an internal recruiter inviting me to apply to a job that fit my experience. Including the initial screening, I interviewed with eight people spanning five rounds over the course of about six weeks.
I was told by the recruiter every round had favorable feedback and there was interest from their side. All interviewers were very nice and up front about the job intensity. The questions were framed to dig into my fixed income knowledge and level of technical expertise. I got the impression that the skillset for the job was very specific.
As mentioned, the process was a bot of a drawn out slog. I think it represented the turn in the job market to where employers could start being more picky about who they hired. What was disappointing was that after that slog Bloomberg just ghosted me. No “thanks, but no thanks”, just flat out nothing. That was a bit of a turn off. I eventually got in contact with the manager hiring for their team who graciously said they hired someone internally and to keep in touch for future openings.
I spoke with another person who interviewed for a similar job and has a similar experience, unfortunately.
