      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Bloomberg in Aug 2014

      Interview

First interview was a group round. Second was a shadowing session. The third was with 3 interviewers one-on-one. Finance knowledge not required in detail as I have virtually no background and could smoke through a bit with some related current affairs topics. They emphasize on the right fit very strongly. Make sure all your statements support the position you're applying for.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Bloomberg in Jan 2015

      Interview

Applied through an employee referall. One week later got an email from HR scheduling an initial phone interview 5 days later. Talked to a very friendly recruiter over the phone who asked every little detail of my CV on the phone. After 25 minutes she asked if I could go to the local Bloomberg´s office. I went there one week later and talked to two senior managers for Sales and Analytics, both very open and friendly although a bit serious. They wanted to know why I could do well in sales, why I didnt pursue a career in invt banking (I used to work for Goldman) and they asked some situational questions for example who I would prioritize when facing too many customers at a time on a crisis day. After that shadowed an employee who explained how his daily job was. That same day in the vening go

      Question 1

The case was about a typical day at Bloomberg where you face too many customers and how to decide which one to answer first. Also was asked what a sharp ratio was. They want to see you want to work there, they do not mind if you are not a Wall Street genius.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Bloomberg (Singapore) in Sep 2014

      Interview

I submitted the online application and a few days later, I was invited to a group interview. There were abput 15-20 candidates. Two Bloomberg employees from analytics team made presentation briefly about the company and the job, and they proceeded the interview. There were two activities: one was the individual activity asking my investment plan and the other was group activity. Group activity was designed to look your problem solving skill and how you interact with others I think. After this 1st round interview, I couldn't hear anything which means I couldn't pass. The result come out really quick if you are chosen and invied to the next stage, but if you are not chosen, you cannot hear anything and there will be no feedback. I just thought it would have been better if they let me know I wasn't selected this time so that I could focus on other stuff.

      Interview

Got an email for an on-site interview 2 days after I submitted application online. Was a group interview of about 15 people. Three sections to the interview: first they gave us 5 minutes to come up with an investment idea and then we have to present it. Second part we were given scenarios in which we have to rank them according to different urgencies. Finally we have to discuss our answers as 2 groups.
