I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Bloomberg (London, England) in Aug 2022
Interview
My interview process was in 3 stages.
The first stage was an extremely long video interview with 10 questions to answer. The positive is that it was not timed so you could research but if you exited the process before finishing, you would have to start again from the beginning.
After passing this stage, I then had an initial interview via Teams with to senior members within the S&A teams. There were some motivational questions and some questions around Bloomberg's products and offering. You need to know these in good enough depth to speak about comfortably so try to speak to someone who works for the company before you interview. There was a sales roleplay here also where I had to converse with one of the interviewers and sell them a holiday at a travel agent and ask the right questions to make a good sales pitch.
The final stage was the hardest, I spoke with 2 Head's of Department I believe both within Sales. This interview couldn't really be prepared for as they were very real life example sales questions. They were testing to see resilience, drive, determination, sales acumen etc.
The whole process took about 2-3 weeks and I received an offer very soon after my final stage.

Question 1
If you went to a client and they wanted to cut 50% of their business with you, what would you tell them?
There are four rounds including first round as video interview. Followed by hr call, 2 rounds of f2f interviews with account manager, analytics people etc. overall is not hard but a lot of times they test you for your motivation instead of market knowledge. Simple finance 101 questions and role play as a customer service person as well.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Bloomberg (Tokyo) in Jul 2026
Interview
The first-round interview was a one-way recorded video interview. There were five questions, and I had 1 minute and 40 seconds to answer each question. Unlike some HireVue interviews, there was no preparation time before each question, so you had to start answering immediately once the question appeared.
The first four questions were asked in Japanese, while the final question required an answer in English.
Overall, the interview focused on your motivation, understanding of the role, and whether your experiences align with Bloomberg's Sales & Analytics position. Since there was no thinking time, I would recommend preparing concise answers that fit comfortably within the 1 minute and 40 second time limit and practicing delivering them naturally.

What strengths will help you succeed in Analytics & Sales?
(Answered in English) What area of finance interests you the most?
It was a natural conversation. Not tense. Almost didn’t even feel like I was having an interview. Tested both Japanese and English skills. They also asked me about their products
