I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Bloomerang in Sep 2021
Interview
I applied for the position via their company website and was contacted via email a few weeks afterwards to schedule a preliminary interview (first step of the interview process). The scheduling process was very easy, I just had to select a date/time from an online calendar and once selected I received a confirmation email with a link to a Google Meetup channel that I could join on that date/time. The interview was scheduled as audio only but I flipped on my camera as well so the interviewer could see me.
Overall it was a good interview experience. The interviewer was friendly and professional and he had a relaxed and welcoming interview style which I liked. The job seemed like a great fit based on my background and experience, and I very much liked the company's mission, goals, and overall ethos.
Unfortunately I was unable to move further along with the interview process as I asked if there were any geographic restrictions on where this remote job could be done from. I was informed that while the company generally doesn't mind if an employee works short-term from a location other than their home (like while on a short vacation or something), that it was against the current company policy for an employee to work long-term from a location where the company doesn't have a business presence. As a digital nomad that has worked remotely for several US based companies from locations around the world for the better part of a decade, I was regretfully unable to proceed with the interview process because of this specific company policy.
All in all it was a pleasant interview process though, and I asked that if the company were to allow remote working from any geographic location in the future, to please keep my contact information and reach out should any further job opportunities arise.
