I interviewed for a brand manager role at the corporate office. Over the course of several weeks, I interviewed with HR, the hiring manager, other departments, and finally, the CMO. I disclosed that I was pregnant early in the interview process. I enjoyed all my conversations and had a good feeling about the company. Then everything changed. After my final interview with the CMO, I sent an email to the hiring manager and reiterated my interest in the position. And then…radio silence. No call or email to say the position was filled, nothing. During this period, I also followed up with HR…again, no response. It’s been 5 weeks.
For a company that prides itself on how it treats people like family, I’m baffled by how I was treated. Really, how difficult is it to give a candidate a call or email to let them know you’ve gone another direction?
From someone who’s worked in corporate marketing for several years, the whole experience felt “mom and pop.” I’d steer clear. (Still love their biscuits)
