I applied through other source. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Bojangles' (Richland, SC) in Jan 2021
Interview
Quick and simple. Reviewed my application and got back to me quickly with an offer and great communication from management team. Asked about past job experiences and what I was looking for.
I applied online. I interviewed at Bojangles' (Athens, GA) in Aug 2025
Interview
When I heard that there was a new Bojangles location in Athens, I went to the company website to apply instantly. Since I applied to multiple roles, the automated system soon set me up multiple interview dates which was a little strange.
When I met the owners for the interview it was rather informal, with one of them alternating between being on his laptop and looking out the window, Informal interviews are not unusual for fast food locations and the owners were pleasant so that was not an issue. Overall, it was one of the nicer interviews I have had.
I did show up for the second scheduled time that the system had given me but was told it was unnecessary since they had already interviewed me.
Within a few days, the automated messaging system sent me a text saying; "Great News! You have moved on to the next stage of your application: Hiring Complete. We will reach out shortly with more details."
Reading this, I gathered that I had been hired and stopped applying for jobs to wait for the company to reach out to me with the required paperwork and a start date.
After a week passed with no contact, I headed to the store in person. There I was informed that I was not in fact hired, and that they had no need to hire anyone else. This was frustrating and unprofessional, and completely soured my experience. If automated systems are going to responsible for the hiring process, they need to be rigorously tested to ensure that they do not cause mix ups such as those I experienced.
