I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Booz Allen Hamilton (McLean, VA) in Jun 2012
Interview
Was contacted out of the blue by a recruiter who had found my resume online and wanted to setup a phone interview the next day. I interviewed the next day and was told they would like me to come to their recruiting event in Mclean in a few weeks. I don't hear back from them for awhile so I contact the person who did the phone interview and they then schedule me for an interview that later by several weeks.
When I get to Mclean there are about 15 people in the group being interviewed, they give us an orientation about the company and then break us up and take us into a room for speed dating style interviews with various people from different teams. Afterwards we fill out a location preference sheet and then are walked out. It has been a couple of weeks since the interview and I haven't heard anything back yet from them.
The whole process seemed very disorganized and odd. I got the feeling that nobody really knew what was going on. The interviewers didn't seem to know what specifically they were looking for or the position that they were hiring for. Very strange.
The Booz Allen consultant interview process was pretty straightforward—started with a recruiter screen, then a couple of behavioral interviews, and a case-style or problem-solving conversation. Overall, it focused a lot on teamwork, communication, and how you think through challenges. It felt professional but conversational.
