The process consisted of three rounds: 1. Online test on hackerrank platform. Tasks revolve around ML, data wrangling and CS. You get 3 hours to complete it, which is tight, but not impossible, if you are well prepared. 2. Two interviews with senior data scientists. Most of the time is spent on data science case studies + some general questions about your background, motivation, experiences. The interviewer presents the case study and asks you how you would solve it. The interviewers ask lots of probing questions, often interrupting you, while you are formulating your answer. I think this is deliberate, because they want to see if you get flustered easily. It's important to keep a cool head and have your data science basics ready. 3. Three interviews with one senior data scientist and two partners. Interviews were similar to the second round. For all five interviews, the interviewers were mostly polite, but came across as somewhat arrogant. After the final round, I was informed that I would not receive an offer, due to a perceived lack of motivation from my side. No further feedback was shared. This was super frustrating and almost poetically ironic, as I had spent a large amount of time preparing for all three rounds and was highly motivated to land the job. It's not clear to me what I could improve, if I were to go through this lengthy process again. Therefore, I will not consider applying at this firm again.
