The interview process was extremely lengthy (it deviated from the original interview path that was shared). The interviews themselves were easy, but I had 7 rounds of interviews and met with 7-9 people. My final interview was an hour long in-person presentation to their team of mktg execs (which should've been over zoom as half of the team joined via zoom anyhow).
The interview process spanned from end of March until the beginning of May. After my final interview, however, I was ghosted for about 7 weeks (despite reaching out for an update). I then randomly received an email from HR explaining that the team had been busy with events and unable to prioritize the hiring process until then, but that I also did not get the position. I felt like I had actually dodged a bullet.
Key learning here -- if the hiring process includes more than 4-5 rounds of interviews, the hiring process is focused more on consensus vs the experience of the candidate. I also felt like interviews were added to my cue to "buy time" for the team to continue to interview additional candidates. It was all just very messy and unprofessional.
