A recruiter reached out to me about a role I had not applied for but decided to interview anyway as I was interested in the company as a whole and the position did match my skillset. It was a pretty standard process - recruiter screening, hiring manger, director of department. The recruiter went into a lot of benefit detail information for me down to insurance premium pricing to weigh my options between other opportunities so I thought that was nice. The interview questions were pretty standard however, neither person really sold me on the position, they just didn't seem very enthusiastic. Also, while I understand casual wear especially in a remote environment, how hard is it to at least look slightly presentable? I was kind of surprised by one of the interviewees just looking messy. After getting through the interviews, I will admit I was no longer interested in the role however, if you're putting in the time and effort getting through interviews with both a hiring manager and department head, I would at this point, expect that the candidate should at least hear back and not get ghosted - especially because they reached out to ME about this role to begin with, not the other way around.
Sometimes it seems as though companies forget interviews are a two-way street! The candidate is interviewing you too in a sense so you should still respect their time and be presentable, especially if they're making it to a final round.
