I went through several rounds of interviews for an internal role. Each one focused on a different aspect of the position, which was helpful and gave me a clearer picture of the expectations.
Throughout the process, I was given the impression—more than once—that I was a strong contender for the role. That made the final decision more disappointing, especially as the only explanation provided was that there were hundreds of applicants. As someone already within the organization, that reasoning didn’t offer much clarity.
While I’m definitely disappointed by the outcome, I’m still glad I had the chance to explore the opportunity and go through the process.
