I applied online and then Brightbytes reached out to me via email for a screening interview. The interview was about 30 minutes, most of which was spent on me being asked and answering questions. At the end of the interview I asked my interviewer a question regarding the company's approach in supporting districts around the country in achieving greater equity. Their answer took me by surprise in saying that the organization prefers to not get involved in politics and was focused on delivering the best data and insights. As a diverse candidate myself and someone who deeply believes in and works towards equity, their answer didn't resonate with me.
