Interview
I was very disappointed with the sudden lack of communication halfway through the process.
Applied online and then had a phone screen with a recruiter the next day. Was asked to come in for an interview about a week later. Interviewed with the hiring manager for just over an hour and seemed to connect well/seemed like we had a very good discussion.
Next received a writing and editing assignment to complete in 1 week's time. After submitting the writing assignment, I received a single acknowledgement email. A week passed and I reached out to ask what was happening, and was told that the hiring manager was on vacation and would not be able to get back to me. 3 weeks later (after I had received and accepted a different job offer) I received an email that they had decided to go with another candidate.

Interview
I had a screener interview over the phone with an HR recruiter the day after I applied. My application was then submitted to the hiring manager. About a week later I had a first round interview with the hiring manager over Skype. After the interview, I was given a writing and editing assessment, which I completed and sent back to the hiring manager. This was around the holidays, so I had to wait a couple of weeks, but there was a second round interview with another manager (unrelated to my role in the company) to see if I would be a good culture fit. A couple of days later, HR called to extend me an offer of employment. The whole process took about a month.

Interview
At first, the process seemed okay, if not slightly odd. They tried to just phone me for a phone screen without scheduling first. Then, we had an on-site interview. There was an editing test and writing test, both due within 2 days).
However, the last (final) interview was really strange. Likely the weirdest job interview of my life. They said it was a "topgrading style" interview and they seemed really proud of it. An hour where the interviewer wanted to know details on what I did in high school (?!), my time at university, why I wanted to leave my hometown, etc. It was bordering on too personal (I probably said something too personal by mistake) and irrelevent to how I could do the job. In the end, they said they were impressed with my background and experience, but decided to pass on me. This was fine with me, as I was thoroughly weirded out. I think it's their loss for passing on a qualified candidate because they wanted to talk to me about my extra-curriculars in high school.
