I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at BronxWorks (New York, NY) in Apr 2013
Interview
It was brief and focus specific tasks to see if I can do the job. The interviewed me once as I was highly referred by person who worked in the industry and know the hiring managers. Something that puzzled me was the slow hiring process. Later on, I learned that the hiring managers are the same ones who are in charge of doing all the tasks that the RH department should be doing, such as background checks and the like, which slowed the process even more as they had to do that on top of the regular job activities.

I applied online. I interviewed at BronxWorks (Bronx, NY) in Feb 2026

The interviewer followed a form asking pretty standard interview questions. Mostly concerned with self motivation, organization, and conflict resolution. Pretty generic questions. Interview lasted about 40 minutes, followed by a 45 minute writing sample and excel worksheet.

Question 1
Describe a time you didn’t get along with a coworker and how did you handle it?
Great interview process, accurate questions to gauge experience, and plenty of encouragement to ask questions. I had a good experience. I was hired as a case manager, it is alot of work but it was the job I needed to really make me discover my passion for social work.

Question 1
Describe your experience with different cultural groups.
I think that the interview was very straight to the point. They asked a variety of questions regarding my interest in the role. I enjoyed speaking with everyone in the Department. The organization itself seems very mission Driven, which is always a plus.
