The interview process with Brooks was okay- with a big exception on communications. The recruiter told me a couple of times after final interviews that I would hear back from her. Totally friendly, with the expectation that the news would be positive. In fact, on the Friday she told me I would hear back from her on Monday. I was all ready for a positive job offer on Monday. Instead, I got an email telling me I didn't get the role and instead, I could call her back to get feedback as to why.
It was not appropriate to lead me along when there were still three candidates in the running. If there was a chance that I would not get the job, it would have been more appropriate not to tell me I would hear back on Monday . I kind of laughed - "you'll hear from me on Monday - that you did not get the job."
Not professional of Brooks. Ultimately it was a bad commute so it's okay that I didn't get the job, but wasn't fun to feel like I had it and then get blindsided by a recruiter who is not good at her job.
