The journey started with myself applying for the role on LinkedIn. Got the call from the talent acquisition team inquiring about the basic details and explaining the roles and responsibilities in detail.
TA HR was happy with the discussion and forwarded the profile to the hiring manager. After two days I got a call from the talent acquisition team informing me that the hiring manager shortlisted my profile for the role.
1st Round - The interviewer was an engineering manager. He started with the introduction then asked about the project details and applications that I worked on. 90% of the interview was based on the projects and applications that I have worked on. Rest 10% of the questions were on Networking and Browsers.
My Opinion: In this round, BrowserStack was trying to evaluate my knowledge on the things that I have worked on and some basic knowledge of DNS, SSL, and networking.
Got the call from TA HR on the very next day. He informed me that I have cleared the first round of the interview process.
2nd Round - The interviewer was a senior software engineer. He also started the interview with the introduction. In this round, only one problem statement was given to me. I was given 2 hours of time to complete the given task. After the completion of the stipulated time, I was asked to demonstrate the working solution.
My Opinion: In this round, BrowserStack was trying to evaluate how I can resolve a problem in the real world.
Got the call from TA HR after 3 days. He informed me that I have cleared the 2nd round of the interview process.
3rd Round - The interviewer was a senior software engineer. The interview started with the introduction part then the interviewer asked me to create a PPT and give a presentation on one of the BrowserStack products. One hour of time was given to complete the above task. After an hour I gave the presentation, followed by the Q&A.
My Opinion: In this round, BrowserStack was trying to evaluate how well I can prepare for a topic in 1 hour. In this 1 hour, I had to do my own research on the product and then prepare the PPT and give the presentation.
Got the call from TA HR just 1 hour after the interview. He informed me that I have cleared the 3rd round of the interview process.
4th Round - The interviewer was an engineering manager. He started the interview by giving an introduction about himself and BrowserStack. Then he explained the roles and responsibilities of this role from a manager's point of view. He inquired about the projects and applications that I have worked on. He also asked a few questions on networking, file system, and files. He also asked scenario-based questions on conflicts, leadership, ownership, and diplomacy.
My Opinion: This was the extension of round 1. In this round, BrowserStack was trying to evaluate how well I know the things that I have worked on along with my people's skills.
Got the call from TA HR on the very next day. He informed me that I have cleared the 4th round of the interview process.
5th Round - The interviewer was a director. The interview started with the introduction part. I was asked to explain the most recent application that I was working on. He asked me about my design decisions. It was a healthy conversation. During the entire interview, I never felt like I am giving an interview. He asked me about my strengths and weaknesses.
My Opinion: In this round, BrowserStack was trying to evaluate my software design decisions.
Got the call from TA HR on the same day. He informed me that I have cleared the 5th round of the interview process.
6th Round - The interviewer was a vice president. The interviewer started the interview with their journey. The interviewer wanted to know about my goals and ambitions in life and how this particular role is going to help me achieve my goals.
My Opinion: In this round, BrowserStack was trying to evaluate if I am the right fit for the position from my goals and ambitions point of view.
Got the call from TA HR just after the interview. He congratulated me for clearing the last round of the interview.
It took about 5 days to get the offer letter from BrowserStack.
The whole interview process took about 37 days.
