I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Buffalo Exchange (Houston, TX) in Oct 2021
Interview
I applied and a week later they called to schedule an interview. The first interview was pretty low key, she asked me to describe my personal style, what brands I like, how often do I shop, and which stores I liked to shop at the most. At the end, she brought out a rack of various clothing and asked me to pick the ones we would buy and the ones we would not buy. Luckily I got them all correct. Then she scheduled the second interview for a couple days later with a different manager. This interview was a lot more intensive. My first task was to pick out three blouses I thought would be hard to sell, and three that would sell fast. Once I picked them out, she brought me back to the office and I had to explain to her each garment I chose and why I thought they would or wouldn’t be fast sellers. Then began the questions, there were quite a few. Stuff like “tell me about a time when you displayed great customer service” and a slew of other questions about fashion and how you handle yourself when providing great customer service to ornery guests. The hardest question was choose 3 current trends and how they differ from last year. I answered “chunky shoes, wide legged pants, and sweats becoming more prevalent in fashion than just loungewear.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Mostly about fashion, like how familiar I am with brands, who are my favorite designers, where I like to shop.
They called me a few weeks after I applied, only asked me a couple questions. One of them was "why should we hire you?"
Went in for a second interview, first they asked me to go through the dresses and pick out three things that I thought would sell quickly and three that I thought would not sell quickly. Then I showed those to the hiring manager and explained my reasoning. She asked me a few more questions after that, mostly about how I would describe my style and clothing trend knowledge. After that, she asked for one reference for a former employer and scheduled me for a final interview which is happening in a couple days.

Question 1
what are 3 trends from this year and how do they differ from trends in the last year?
I applied online. I interviewed at Buffalo Exchange (New York, NY)
Interview
There were 3 interviews to go through. First was a screener basically, meaning they ask you about your resume and some generic questions like where you like to shop, your past experience, etc. For the second one, they have you pull items from a specific category and discuss what items you would have bought in and what items you would have passed on and explain why. This is basically a test on if you are keeping up with the trends, it sounds like a bigger deal than it is. If they ask you back for a third "interview" you got it! The third "interview" is when they review the position and have you fill out paperwork if you bring the right documents, so it's where they offer you the position.
