I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Build-A-Bear (Ottawa, ON) in Apr 2016
Interview
The first interview, there were about fifteen of us. We all sat in a circle in the store. We started with introducing ourselves, then the manager interviewing us asked us questions which we discussed until the subject ran out of things to say. Then she asked if we have any questions, and once she answered them all, the first interview was over.
I stayed after everyone had left to build a bear for a group of children i teach, and she asked me right there if i wanted to do the second interview, because the two managers there were already discussing who they liked. I said yes, so she took me to the back room and i had to answer an online survey. A personality test, where you answered what would you do if say, an employee stole an item less than five dollars, then less than ten, then less than twenty five.
Once i was done i left, and the next day they called me for a third one-on-one interview. There they asked me some basic questions about myself, like my hours of availability and how long i was planning on staying, then at the end they offered me the position.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1

What are you working on improving about yourself?
What kind of things do you like doing/hobbies?
What is the worst situation you ever had to deal with a supervisor or manager? What did you do?

Interview
Really positive process. Once I’d applied, I’d had an interview and been offered the position within a week. Was a group interview. No formal interview questions more fun/group activities as this fits the role.
When I arrived we completed an assessment which took around 15mins. Then we got paired up and had to do a “heart ceremony”. Then we had to pick 3 items and sell it to the group/describe why we picked it.
It was good, went in and did my interview, was a good job at the time. Made kids and adults happy. Had a lot of stock, mostly older bears, had a lot of negative feedback about alot of product being online only

Interview
One of the best interviews I have had. It was a group interview, and we all answered fun questions. Because this was in downtown Disney, they really wanted to see how fun and outgoing you can be.
