I applied online. I interviewed at Build-A-Bear (New York, NY)
Interview
The first interview is a group interview. It's pretty laid back, I had about 13 people in my group. When it began the managers introduced themselves and our first activity began. We had to ask the person in front of us three things, 1. Why do you want to work here, 2. What's somethibg unique about you, 3. Tell me something random about you, and then we had to introduce them to the group. They next asked us to give them a positive and a negative about working in a group. Use personal experience they can tell if you're just making it up as you go. They then ask you to describe a time when you brightened up someone's day. Then they want to see your ability to work in a group, they put you into a group and I don't know if the activity is randomized but during my interview our group activity was to create a commercial. So just make sure they see how goofy and cheery you are and ask lots of questions so that they'll notice you.
When the interview is through if they like you they'll make an appointment for your second interview or if it's possible you can ask if you can take it that same day.
The second interview is you just talking to a manger theyll ask you a few questions and just try to be as honest as possible. They'll then ask you to take a questionnaire which just tests if you're the right fit for the job just answer honestly and you'll be fine!
Basic questions, asked about sewing, experience with kids, knowledge on the company, days I’m free ect ect ect ect. Had a brilliant interview and got the job, would work there again if I didn’t move
Group interview and then 1:1 - was simple enough and felt very relaxed. Nice team and then found out about 1 week later. Was a Christmas temp job so was quite a lot of people there and wanting to apply
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Build-A-Bear (Toledo, OH) in Feb 2025
Interview
The interview takes 3 rounds: a phone interview, an in person interview where you fill out a survey then complete an interview, and a follow through interview. I was hired on the spot at my follow through, but process could be different.
