      Interview

Pure Ghosting Techniques- Great interviews, which means they even went overtime and then the candidate gets completely ghosted. After 3 interviews? Very disrespectful and unprofessional. This type of recruiting should not be acceptable.

      Interview

Definitely not a place for PR holders. Positive Experience: Professional Outreach: The recruiter initiated contact in a professional manner through LinkedIn. Efficient Scheduling and Response: The recruiter promptly scheduled a call during the same week and provided the outcome of the interview right after. Negative Experience: Transparency Matters: Addressing Inclusion and Diversity in Recruitment Context: As a Permanent Resident holder, my citizenship became an exclusion criterion for this position. While I won't delve into legal implications (as unsure about this), here is my experience. Undisclosed Travel Requirement: The job description omitted any mention of traveling to the USA, a requirement disclosed during the initial call with the recruiter. Misunderstanding of Visa Needs: Despite affirming my ability to travel to the USA for business purposes under the condition of obtaining a visa, the recruiter seemed unable to differentiate between a “business visitor visa” and a “tourist visa” and why would I now need a visa for a business trip to the USA as I already had a work visa during my previous employment in the US ? “If you worked in the USA why can't you travel for a few days without a visa ?” Exclusion Based on Citizenship: They expect someone that can travel frequently to the US* for the role without applying for a visa. In other words, I am excluded because of my citizenship. *a word regarding the frequent travel, initially he mentioned a few business trips and ended by you needing to travel in the first week to the US. Really confusing. Personal Questions & Lack of Empathy Invasive Inquiry: The recruiter delved into personal matters, including questioning the reasons for my relocation from the US to Canada. While these questions asked differently may have been relevant to my profile, they were delivered in a judgmental manner that left me feeling uncomfortable.

      Product Manager Interview

      Dec 12, 2023
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at BuildOps in Aug 2023

      Interview

Even though the recruiter was great, the process was long and confusing. All the steps took too long because the team was too "busy working" and didn't have time to review candidates. After a while, they just vanished without saying anything.
