I was sourced via LinkedIn by a recruiter, and asked to provide a portfolio. I accepted an invitation to interview, and had one scheduled, but it was promptly cancelled the day before the interview was to take place, as the interviewers had "something more important" to do. This isn't really a great reflection of prioritising candidates or providing a great candidate experience. I had no feedback on my portfolio, either. It's been a couple of weeks and still no word on rescheduling or cancelling the entire process, despite sending a couple of emails to chase the recruiter. Whether I applied, or was sourced, this is an unacceptable candidate experience. Communication should be prompt, and should not require the candidate to chase up to find out what's happening next. Even if it's just "we're still figuring it out" - don't ghost your candidates. Get it together.
