Overall the recruitment process has been the worst I've ever experienced. I was contacted for an initial conversation by HR which took approximately 20 minutes and she said that she'd put me through to the next stage: a task and an interview with the hiring manager. Trying to schedule the interview was hard work as I could never get a response from the recruiter. Despite asking for my availability for an entire week, which I'd then provide, I wouldn't hear back until the end of that week and she'd ask for a time the following, meaning I had to reschedule my entire calendar. This happened throughout the process. I found myself constantly ignored, never given updates on timing or next steps. I was put forward to the next stage of interviews which was going to be x4 30 minute interviews with various people. Again, I would send my availability and not hear back for over a week - only getting a response when I followed up with the hiring manager directly (I didn't want them to to think I wasn't keen). When they were eventually scheduled, (only x2 30 min to begin with), the recruiter sent me the wrong link for the 2nd call and didn't tell me that I was supposed to stay on the link for the first invite. That interview was missed. 4 weeks later, after being ignored for over 2 weeks, I'm asked to schedule another block of x2 30 minute interviews. Again, I provide my availability and she comes back with a time the following week. Despite following up 3 times over the course of the week following the interviews, again I didn't get a response until I emailed the hiring manager explaining I wasn't hearing back. I was told the final interview was happening that evening and then I would be told. At this point I just feel frustrated and jaded by my entire experience and concern for other internal processes if this is the recruitment process that took over 2 months. I wasn't the right fit for the job which is fine, but the complete lack of respect for my time (and mental capacity) as a candidate is a major red flag for me. Having interviewed candidates for multiple positions myself, my number one goal is to make candidates feel as comfortable as possible and not leave them hanging for too long, knowing the stress it can cause.
