Bustle Graphic Design interview questions

I was contacted by someone from the company who immediately asked me to come for an in-person interview that same week. She was very slow to respond to my availability, so by the time she did I was unable to find transportation to the office in NYC from my location. I requested a video interview instead. I had the video interview, and she mentioned she would be sending me a "Design Assessment" to complete. I completed the assignment, and never heard from the company again. Overall the process seemed very inconsiderate to me as an applicant. I've never experienced a process that doesn't at least decline an applicant after being in touch and interviewing.
