      Interview

I feel compelled to write this review, as I had a very negative experience. After several rounds of interviews, I was flown to the headquarters in Rochester, New York to meet with several people. All of my interviews were very pleasant, until my final one with the President. From the beginning of our meeting, her tone and nature were honestly quite rude. I know I wasn't the only one who noticed, as the other person in the room gave the President a look and she said that she was only being honest. However, her honesty consisted of telling me that she had never heard of any of the companies I've worked for during the past 12 years; that she hadn't reviewed my resume before our meeting (that is something I wish she had kept to herself); and that she didn't understand why I was interviewing for this available position. While I agree that I may not have a traditional background of an Account Supervisor, I was very upset after my interview, particularly after such a great experience with everyone else. I think there's a certain way to speak to someone who has taken time to meet with you, no matter what. It's disheartening to spend weeks researching a company, conducting interviews and taking time away from your current workload, only to be treated in this manner.

This is Kimberly Jones, President of Butler/Till, and I want to respond to this post directly. First, I’m sorry you had a negative interview experience. I agree and take seriously our obligation to be well-prepared and respectful of the time and diligence every prospect makes in pursuing a position at our company. As this post is anonymous, I can’t respond to it specifically but would be more than happy to provide feedback if you would like to reach out directly. Lastly, thank you for the time you took to write this post. Any feedback, but especially critical feedback, helps us (and me) improve. Kjones@butlertill.com
