I am surprised and confused how a public company of this size is so terribly organized for interviews.
After the recruiter, I spoke with the hiring manager (interim CMO) for 15 minutes. You can barely get through introductions in that amount of time. I get that time is precious, but given how small the Communications team is, you would think that it's incredibly important to spend time with candidates to appropriately vet both hard and soft skills. Especially for the hiring manager.
I was then scheduled to speak with the only other person on the Communications team for 30 minutes, and most of that time was her warning me (or so it seemed) that the most important element about this role is the ability to work with someone very difficult (the CEO).
I didn't get an offer (I'm not even sure what the next step would have been) but I think I dodged a bullet.
I don't think it helps their talent pool that they request butts in seats 5x a week (though that's the company's and team's prerogative).
