I applied online. I interviewed at CARFAX (Centreville, VA) in Apr 2019
Interview
Applied online through Glassdoor which resulted in a 30 minute phone screen with a recruiter. I had some offers on the table at the time, so the recruiter was very accommodating in getting me scheduled for an on-site. I interviewed for a backend role (the organization is language agnostic).
For the on-site, I did a 1.5h technical and paired programming interview. The questions I was asked explored how I thought about coding concepts like inversion of control (think Spring) and interfaces since they were on my resume, so be prepared to talk about what you put on there. The paired programming part was relatively low stress. They just want to see what it's like to work with you and if you can fit into the culture well. The actual coding exercises were not anything crazy difficult.
The last interview during the on-site was 30 minutes with a manager, which consisted of higher level technology and behavioral questions. Fairly standard and short. A lot of time was left for me to ask questions.
They provide feedbacks which might be useful .Regarding the interview procedure, I think in some cases they jump into conclusion and make decisions base on those which might not be the real case.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at CARFAX in Jul 2025
