I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at CARFAX (Detroit, MI) in Apr 2024
Interview
Positive interview experience, albeit quite long (4 hours of interviews). Seems like it would be a good company to work for, everyone was very interested in their work, and had clear understanding of how their roles related to the larger company goal.

Describe how you would go about preparing a data set before using it to create a model.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at CARFAX (London, ON) in Feb 2022
Interview
One of the worst interviewers I have ever had in my entire career. My HR call went well and the second call with the hiring manager went well as well. The third call was a technical (coding) call with the hiring manager and another technical employee. I had numerous interviews in my life and I can clearly tell that the technical employee was biased against me from the get go. I can easily tell that he was seeing me a competitor to him and his main goal is to provoke me and spoil the interview. That employee had very little experience with Python and ML as he was working his entire life on other sectors of IT and he recently joined the company and started working with Python/ML. I can easily tell based on his questions that he has very beginner-lower intermediate knowledge. He was very arrogant, full of himself and he talks to me with a bossy tone even though it is an official interview (third round). He kept on interrupting me when I was answering and then he asked me a question in feature selection and I answered it correctly, and then he started going into a rabbit hole trying to make me look like I am a fool. I am pretty confident that my answer was correct (I later checked with a ML expert after the interview and he confirmed my answer). Then he told the hiring manager “You can continue the call” and he dropped from the Zoom call. That is so unprofessional and so disrespectful to hang up and leave the interview in such a manner. This is the first time in my life I witness such level of unprofessionalism. I was very very professional and respectful throughout the entire interview process even when he was provoking me. When this incident happened, I just lost my focus and could barely continue the rest of the interview with the hiring manager. I should have dropped from the call after this disrespectful incident. This is NOT a company you want to work with. The only think I appreciated after this interview is how encouraging and professional my current manager and colleagues are. I would never apply to this TOXIC, DISRESPECTFUL and UNPROFESSIONAL work environment again.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at CARFAX in Dec 2020
Interview
It seemed straightforward. I came from an internship so no coding examples were requested although they would typically. There was a series of interviews: with HR, the manager, and the team I would be working with.
