Applied online and was contacted by the recruiter. Had a good conversation and was setup with a call with the hiring manager for the week after.
Talked with the hiring manager about past projects and machine learning concepts. Conversation flowed really well and he said I would get a take home assignment to complete.
Got the take home assignment the following day. It was to build a sentiment analysis prediction pipeline for a Twitter data set. Once finished, I sent it back. Heard back a few days later to schedule an on-site. Since I was not in San Francisco, I had to coordinate a flight and hotel with the recruiter.
She was on top of her work. Everything was coordinated within the day. Flew out the next week for the on-site. They paid for a nice hotel as well.
Onsite consisted of white boarding sessions as well as going over the take home project. Overall, the process was very smooth and even though I didn't get the offer, the people at Carvana were really nice and I would definitely consider them in the future. They even reimbursed me for my Uber to and from the airport.
