      Director of IT Interview

      Jan 28, 2025
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Boston, MA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at CD PROJEKT RED (Boston, MA) in Jan 2025

      Interview

I applied 2mo and got a recent email asking for me to instead apply for the lower Manager of IT position. Read both JDs. There is no real difference in the roles and I told them, they will eventually figure that out. I know my skills. I am IT, not an engineer. So based on my research of CDPR being in Red 2.0 for their rebrand, I attempted to teach the hiring team how to do this interview for a US market. That went south. They attempted to make ME seem unqualified. I tried! They're not ready to hire for this role in my actual expert opinion. As someone that has been in IT leadership in the US for over a decade, it felt like my time was completely wasted, asking me Network Engineer and Systems Admin questions....for an IT role. Maybe Red 5.0 will be better, as the communication and interview I received was lacking and not a great way to break into the US market. Seems like the reviews are right: management needs to do better.

      Question 1

Something about how I handle backend operations.....as an IT person.
