I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at CF Industries (Deerfield, IL) in May 2018
Interview
Applied online and also got referred by a friend. The interview was set up quickly and painlessly. There were 4 different sets of people that interviewed in the total span of 2 hours. Questions were basic regarding career and resume. After the interview, I got a positive response from the HR person. I sent a thank you email and they were very happy. They said they will contact in the coming week. They never did. When I emailed again, they said they have not had a debrief yet. They said the same the following week. And stopped responding after that.

Question 1
What is one most important strength you have that you could apply to this job?
I applied online. I interviewed at CF Industries (Deerfield, IL) in May 2017
Interview
This review will be more of the recruiter than the company interview process itself. I submitted my resume online. Found a recruiter at CF on LinkedIn and immediately sent a message to introduce myself. Let's call him "Joe" for the purpose of this review (Not the actual name). Joe said my resume looked great and we set up a quick 30 minute phone interview. Joe said he was going to recommend I be brought in for an in-person interview. He said I was more than qualified for the role. This was a Thursday and said he would connect with me the following Monday.
Monday roles around. Nothing... I waited until Wednesday. I sent Joe a message via LinkedIn because that's the only way we had been communicating. Nothing. It doesn't take much effort these days to figure out the format for a companies email. I figured out what Joe's email was and sent him a message. Joe responded and thanked me for following up (I really wanted this role, of course I'm going to follow up). He said we would be in touch again by a specific date a few days in the future. Again, that date rolled around and no word from Joe. I let 2 days pass again and sent another email. I got a response with a date and time. FINALLY! We're getting somewhere! We found a better time and date for the interview.
Be prepared for a series of 3 interviews by 6 different people. They were all managers of different departments and then the 2 managers of this particular role. No biggie. It is however exhausting and seems pointless to answer the same questions 3 times over for nearly 2.5 hours. I ask a lot of questions, so maybe I extended the interview past it's normal time. Joe didn't set any expectations how long the interview will be or who I'd be meeting with. I like to research the people I will be meeting with before interviews.
I felt I knocked it out of the park. Clearly I didn't, as I didn't more forward in the process. The next step was another interview with their "VP's". When would that happen? "It could be 2 days, it could be 4 weeks from now." Oh, that's pretty vague. Overall, I didn't so much have a problem with the interview itself. The company seems very family oriented. I was really interested in the pension plan and tuition reimbursement as I am looking to pursue my MBA. The lack of response for the recruiter "Joe" was the worst part. It should not take a candidate 3 times to remind you to schedule an interview that you were promised.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at CF Industries (Deerfield, IL) in Feb 2017
Interview
Contacted by the recruiter for an interview and the interview was promptly set up. I interviewed with three different panels of two people each and the questions were fairly straightforward. They mostly focused on your previous work experience and how it would prepare you for a role there. They love to use corporate buzzwords like runway candidate or circle back to X department. I didn't actually interview with human resources so the questions were more conversational in tone and did not really delve deeply into any subject.
After the interview two months ago there has been no contact from the recruiter, human resources or interview staff despite repeated attempts at following up. If this interview process is typical it's a wonder they have been able to find and staff the amount of people in the office they already have. Overall, it's been a huge waste of time.
