Interview
This interview was conducted on my college campus, with multiple people seated in a room asking the interview questions.
The interview started out simple with your typical interview questions but then began to go into more technical computer science questions.
I went to this interview with computer science I and II under my belt. I may have just been underqualified, but even after studying up on my knowledge and even trying to study up on more advanced concepts yet to be taught in the courses I have taken, I did not know the answer to some of the questions asked.
About halfway through the interview, the employer asked "What does our company do?", and upon answering the question he responded with "That's half right". Other than that, there was no feedback provided on any of the questions I had answered, so I didn't get corrected if I was wrong.
This interview felt more like an interview for a full-time job rather than an internship position. And this was just the first interview. From what I heard, they have multiple rounds of interviews, but I did not get through the first one.
My interview was a bit ago, so I don't entirely remember the questions asked, but I will provide a couple of the more simple questions here.
In short, internships are an opportunity for college students to experience what it is like to work in their desired field. Internships are not just part-time jobs, and the main goal of the student is to learn. Questions should be asked to show that the student is capable and ready to learn new things, not just technical questions that the student may not have covered in class yet.
My experience might be an anomaly, or it could have been due to my lack of experience, but I do not recommend applying for an internship at this company.
