I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at CIBC in Feb 2015
Interview
This was a co-op position. The first stage was a phone interview and reception was not so great. He called me, commented on reception quality and said he would try again and hung up, except he didn't and I had to call him back myself. He had a rather thick accent and when I asked him to repeat questions, I could tell he was getting frustrated. Needless to say I did not make it to the next round.
The interview process included a recruiter screening, an online coding assessment, and a follow-up interview with the team. Questions were a mix of behavioral and technical discussions focused on experience.
The interview process started with an initial screening that included a mix of yes/no and behavioral questions. I then moved on to a second interview, which focused on both technical and behavioral questions.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time you had to explain a technical concept to someone non-technical. How did you adjust your communication?
I applied online. I interviewed at CIBC (Toronto, ON) in Jun 2026
Interview
It went well overall. The process included one video call with the recruiter, one online coding assessment, and a final-round interview that covered both behavioural and technical questions, giving me a strong understanding of the role.
