I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at CIBC (Toronto, ON) in Jun 2012
Interview
The initial interview can seem very simple to someone who has intermediate to advanced investment knowledge. You might be surprised if they ask you a question like what is a mutual fund, but they are trying to weed out candidates at this stage.
The interview is more fit based, meaning less of a focus on technical market knowledge and more on your ability to deal and interact with clients.
Be advised, the interviewers will give absolutely no feedback to your answers, barely even a nod, so don't think you are bombing the interview because your interviewer is staring back at you stone faced. It just seems to be interview protocol here.

Question 1
Can you always make money investing in mutual funds? I was stunned, the question seemed too simple so I paused for what seemed too long in trying to figure out if this was some kind of trick question. In the end, remember, they are just trying to weed out candidates who know nothing about the markets, You do not have to be a market wizard to get this entry level position.
