      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at CIBO in Jan 2018

      Interview

The process started with an easy phone screen, a very easy take home data science problem, and then a video call with two team members to go over the data science test. The data science interview didn't have hard questions, but many were poorly posed (perhaps on purpose)? Never received feedback, which is rude since they make the process logistically challenging.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Given any parameter you set (e.g. winsorization threshold or regularization parameter)) describe what would happen if the value was slightly different? Be ready to describe inverse transform sampling (not just demonstrate that you can do it).

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at CIBO

      Interview

      1. phone screen 2. take-home assignment (suggest spending about 3hrs) 3. videoconference discussing assignment 4. in-person interview (half day) The assignment was pretty easy and can be completed in a couple hours. The interview questions were pretty standard (mostly general stats/programming knowledge and some whiteboard coding...ugh). Oddly, there was no point at which I spoke to or met any of the management team, cofounders, or the director of engineering and data science. Kind of strange for a VC-backed startup. The interview process wasn't terrible, but after all this, I got no offer, a "fill-in-the-candidate's-name" rejection form letter, and zero feedback. Not a worthwhile experience on my end.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at CIBO (Boston, MA) in May 2017

      Interview

After a very easy assignment, I had a google hangout with two data scientists in their team. The schedule was 1 hour. But I do not know why they shorten it to 30 mins. It made me feel bad.

      Question 1

They did not ask me any technical questions
