Heard about the company through an on-campus Data Science talk (not a formal recruiting event but I did talk to a recruiter afterwards). First round interview was through my University's career center. Format was two 45 minute interviews. Each was supposed to be about half fit and half case, with some time for my questions at the end, but the first one had only a short case (~10 minutes) and in the second one we never got to the case because we were chatting up a storm. Second round was at the firm’s office in Midtown Manhattan. Three 45 minutes interviews: one with a mid-level Director, one with a person in the position I applied for, and one with a Partner. Before the second round they sent me a dataset and asked me to do some basic analysis in order to make a business recommendation, using whatever tools I wanted to. The first interview at the second round was mostly going over this assignment. The second interview was fairly straightforward, included a logic case. The third interview with the Partner was very interesting, and it was at this point that I could see the firm was seriously interested in me. The Partner was able to see right through my responses to the generic questions, and tried to get inside my head by asking about my family, my interests, where I’m from, etc. Very personable, but I could see how these extremely frank questions might be off-putting to some applicants. Second round interview was on a Friday, I got a call Monday afternoon with a verbal offer, formal written offer followed later that week.
