This one hurt me. There were 4 rounds of interviews and a huge assignment/presentation. My first 1:1 interviews were great. Each person was nice, gave me a great overview of the position, and our questions back and forth were great. The assignment was massive. It was 4 parts, and one of the parts was a 12 month marketing plan for 3 of their products. It took me over 6 hours to complete. They asked for a copy, but I told them I prefer to present it as it took me that much time. If I was chosen, I would send a copy. I presented and asked for feedback. The team told me I had all good feedback and was a really strong candidate. A week later, I was given the canned rejection email. I followed up for more feedback and they kept saying I was a strong candidate. It felt like a waste of time.
