Interview
Terrible process. Where to begin? Complete disorganization from the Aetna/CVS schedulers. Every email from their side included 3 of their hiring staff and yet still things were bungled. For instance, not notifying me that the person I had been scheduled to meet with had told them he couldn't make it, causing me to remain on an empty Zoom link waiting. Can you believe this happened more than once. Plus, the interviewers also seemed confused over who I'd met with and hadn't, presumably because of the terrible internal communications.
I had around 6 interviews total. One interviewer, who is in a more junior role, interviewed me twice for some reason. He had a habit of asking very vague questions and of using every opportunity to boast or talk about himself. When asked for clarity (i.e. "are you asking X or are you asking Y") the interviews predictably disintegrated. A classic indicator of bad management is not being careful enough about who is conducting interviews.
Most of the other interviewers were friendly and seemed to be working on interesting projects. Even though the role was advertised as technical, several of the interviews were more like consulting "case question" style, which I wasn't really expecting (and am still a bit confused why they asked).

However, the partially written SQL queries and the lack of direction on whether I was required to modify the existing code or implement my own solution left me scrambling to debug the poorly written queries before even proceeding, as the original queries failed to run from the start. Oh, and the interviewer simply dropped the code into CoderPad, went on mute, and seemingly did other things, making it impossible to ask questions.
Python Interview – Excellent experience with the interviewer. The question was moderately challenging (LeetCode medium or a simplified hard), and although I wasn’t able to fully complete the solution in time, I was given a helpful hint along the way.
