I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Cactus Club Cafe (Vancouver, BC) in Jan 2014
Interview
Senior sue chef interviews me, asked me about my age, where I lived and my years of experience I have cooking. Also asked me to briefly describe my duties from my previous experiences and asked if I'm able to work nights of days, if I have a reliable transportation to get to from home to work. After the interview chef asked for reference and I had to wait for a phone call if I'm hired.
I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Cactus Club Cafe (Kelowna, BC) in Sep 2024
Interview
Smooth and friendly. It's just like any other interviews out there. Nothing extra ordinary to deal with. Just show up. Be real and all will be good. And if you're good at your job you'll most likely get hired.
No interview needed, it was only a 5 minutes online chat via google meets, the manager was very friendly and was only worried about when I could start and what hours I could work, it looks like he needed a lot of coverage
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
When can you start? And can you work night shifts?
Extremely simple interview because they are desperate for employees. The most important thing they want to know is if they will get along with you amid the mess the kitchen is and everybody is very frustrated. If you really want this job, just smile and they will hire you.
