Applied online around start of 2024. Contacted by recruiter via email on Jan 2nd. Made plans for a 20-30 min phone screen for Jan 8th at 10a. On Jan 8th, I was not called. I reached out and emailed Recruiter, and they apologized and said they had a meeting come up and could we reschedule for later that day. We had the phone screening at 12p that day, and had a solid, easy-going interview. Recruiter reached out via email on Jan 10 to set up interview with hiring manager. Scheduled virtual call for Jan 12. Virtual interview with hiring manager went well. We talked for a little over 30 mins and questions were thoughtful. I followed up with recruiter via email on Jan 17th, excited about interview with hiring manager and hoping to hear about next steps. Recruiter replied on Jan 24th via email to ask about my availability for an in-person interview with team. I replied on Jan 25 with availability. Recruiter emailed again Jan 26, asking the same questions about availability. I was confused because I had replied and that response was in the email thread. I replied on Jan 26, mentioning my confusion and gave my availability again. No response. After not hearing back, I followed up via email, on the same thread, on Feb 13, to ask what happened. The recruiter emailed on Feb 14, stating the last communication they received from me was on Jan 8th and because I had not responded, they had moved on to other candidates. I don't know how my emails did not get to them, especially since all of our communication was still in one email thread between us. This interview process made me feel like I was crazy and clawing for information. There were red flags from the start that I ignored because I was excited about role.
