      Senior Project Manager Interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Cantina (New York, NY) in Jul 2015

      Interview

I was headhunted, so my first direct contact with Cantina was for my phone interview. The interview was scheduled at least a week in advance. Despite the advance notice, the company wasn't sure who would interview me. I was given three names of people who might call me at the appointed hour. I waited 30 minutes, but no call. I'd taken time from my existing job for the interview, so I went back to work after i gave up waiting. They finally called me and left a voicemail, still wanting to speak, but I was now back to work. The headhunter convinced me to reschedule the interview, but I already had a bad taste in my mouth. Do they not value the hiring process enough to know who is going to conduct and plan for each interview? When it was clear that their previous meeting wasn't going to finish on time, could they not step out for a moment to let me know they'd be late? If this is how they treat potential hires, how do they treat clients? It is their chance to make a first impression as much as it's the interviewees. I was admittedly not very interested when I finally had the interview a week later, and the interviewer's overly broad questions--"tell me about your project management process"--didn't really help. They decided that it was a bad fit, and I agreed.
