The process took 6 days. I interviewed at CarMax (Rio Rancho, NM)
Interview
The interview process was thorough. I received a phone call to set up a phone interview shortly after completing my application. The phone interview lasted roughly 20 minutes.
After the phone interview I was contacted to set up an in person interview. The in person interview lasted 3 hours. There were several stages: first I completed an online questionnaire, next I met with a manager and discussed my resume, and confirmed the online questionnaire answers. Next I was interviewed by a sales manager, I was asked roughly 10 "tell me a time when..." questions and was shown a video on the mock sale process. Next I completed a mock sale, and was asked how I felt I did, and received feedback from the managers that were involved. Next I was interview by 2 more managers from the purchasing department, they asked me about my previous work experience and roughly 10 more "tell me a time" questions. This was the last interview for the day, and I was told I would be contacted after the managers discussed their notes with the LGM.
About an hour later I revived a call to meet with the LGM the next day.
At the LGM interview I was informed of the pay plan and benefits, and offered a position.
First interview over the phone. Second in person with a mock car sale. Currently waiting to hear back whether I will be considered for a final interview at the moment.

Question 1
Tell me when you went out of your way and above for a manager.
I applied online. I interviewed at CarMax (Oceanside, CA)
Interview
I had a disappointing experience with interview process. After submitting an online application, I was contacted by a hiring manager/recruiter who scheduled a 20-minute phone interview for a specific date and time.
Unfortunately, no one called at the agreed-upon time, and I did not receive any communication explaining the missed interview or offering to reschedule. A few days later, I received an automated rejection email.
The lack of communication and professionalism throughout the process was frustrating. If a company chooses to move forward or not move forward with a candidate, at least a basic courtesy and timely communication is expected.

Question 1
Are you available for a 20 minutes phone interview next week?
About a 15-20 minute phone interview. Basic questions like past job experience, are you comfortable with customer service? If they like you, you move on to an in person interview. A scripted interview with one of the sales managers asking open ended questions on why you would be a good candidate, if you have sales experience, & that you understand it is a 100% commission position. You will then complete a sales exercise on the lot, where you complete a brief walkaround of a vehicle & present some obvious features & benefits of the vehicle. If you get passed that, you meet the General Manager where he/she will be the final decision. He asked repetitive questions the sales managers did & then asked specific questions like "Describe a time you sold a product, what was the determining factor that resulted in the customer buying that product?"
