I applied through other source. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at CarMax (San Diego, CA) in Apr 2017
Interview
Send in a resume plus took 1 hour to complete questionnaire on-line. Received a voicemail message next morning from them, I returned their call 1/2 hour later and left them a VM message. I didn't receive a call back until a week later, I was a little surprised by it. I agreed to schedule a phone interview with them the next day at 2:30pm but got a call at 1:15pm instead and the interviewer wanted to do it at that time so I was okay with it. After 20 minutes of interview questions the interviewer saids they will contact me in the next few days if they're going to proceed wlrh an in-person interview.
I will not continue with the hiring process nor want to work for them in the future. They need to be a lot more organized, be professional and on time for their applicants, they also should have a more experienced interviewer to do the interview. I had to repeat myself multiple times that I was in sales for over 10 years (makes full commission) in the past and knows how to provide great customer services.
In addition, the posting on the job site did not list anything about ithe job being 100% full commission, I got this information after doing some research. I'm looking for a job with base+commission since I already had a bad experience with a company that pays (commission only and no base). I explained to the interviewer that it's not going work for me if the job is a commission only job, the person neither confirm nor denied their pay structure. I said I don't want to waste their time if it's true but the person insisted to continue with the interview process anyway. What a waste of time!!!
First interview over the phone. Second in person with a mock car sale. Currently waiting to hear back whether I will be considered for a final interview at the moment.

I applied online. I interviewed at CarMax (Oceanside, CA)
Interview
I had a disappointing experience with interview process. After submitting an online application, I was contacted by a hiring manager/recruiter who scheduled a 20-minute phone interview for a specific date and time.
Unfortunately, no one called at the agreed-upon time, and I did not receive any communication explaining the missed interview or offering to reschedule. A few days later, I received an automated rejection email.
The lack of communication and professionalism throughout the process was frustrating. If a company chooses to move forward or not move forward with a candidate, at least a basic courtesy and timely communication is expected.

Question 1
Are you available for a 20 minutes phone interview next week?
About a 15-20 minute phone interview. Basic questions like past job experience, are you comfortable with customer service? If they like you, you move on to an in person interview. A scripted interview with one of the sales managers asking open ended questions on why you would be a good candidate, if you have sales experience, & that you understand it is a 100% commission position. You will then complete a sales exercise on the lot, where you complete a brief walkaround of a vehicle & present some obvious features & benefits of the vehicle. If you get passed that, you meet the General Manager where he/she will be the final decision. He asked repetitive questions the sales managers did & then asked specific questions like "Describe a time you sold a product, what was the determining factor that resulted in the customer buying that product?"
